Full Description

The ALG AK Trigger Enhanced with Lightning Bow (AKT-EL) is a single stage trigger designed for the AK47 and AK74 variant platforms.

The ALG Defense AK series of triggers were designed to work with most AK variants without fitting. With AK variants that have a rivet for the rear of the trigger guard, commonly acting as an anti-slap feature, this rivet should be no greater than 0.062 inches tall. Our AK series of triggers are designed to work with rivets that are 0.062 inches in height or less. If this rivet is higher than 0.062 inches, the rivet will have to be shaved down to allow for more clearance. Having improper clearance can result in damage to the disconnector itself.

Alternatively, if the user does not choose to modify the rivet, you can opt to modify the underside of the disconnector to increase the clearance between the bottom of the disconnector and the rivet in the receiver. It is not recommended to completely remove the tail of the disconnector as adverse issues may arise, such as trigger slap. Most users prefer to bevel (angle) the disconnector in the area that would contact the rivet. We recommend shaving down the rivet, not the disconnector tail.

Please note, we do recommend having a qualified gunsmith install and perform all fitting of fire control groups.  AK receivers and parts coming from a wide origin of manufacture vary, there is no agreed upon set specifications.  As such, fitting may be required.  Please note the rivet and/or disconnect will need the proper clearance as per the chart below, failure to have the correct clearance will cause damage.“

Phenomenal Trigger
Review by Odysseus

Worth the money. Installation was a little messier than expected due to pin being very tight through hammer assembly. Silky break, solid reset. Best AK trigger I’ve ever used.

Awesome trigger
Review by Charles

I installed this trigger in an Arsenal SAM7R milled receiver and the difference was amazing. Consistent short reset and break. Every AK I will own will have this trigger installed.

Trigger feels great and is a worthwhile upgrade, especially if its on sale! PSAk-47 GB2 owners, this trigger did not fit my rifle even without the pin. I needed to take a hair of material off the back of the trigger itself for the safety to engage.

AK-47/74 Trigger by ALG Defense (AKT-EL)
Review by Hugh Jayness

I've got a Romanian AK-47 and AK-74. My AK-47 has a respectable Tapco G2 trigger that I LOVE. My AK-74 had a factory clunker. I decided to install the AKT-EL in the AK-74. The installation was easy. I had to file the roll pin a little (in accordance with the fitting instructions) to fit the firing safety clearance. When I finished...WOW! What an amazing trigger! Today I am ordering another AKT-EL to replace the Tapco G2 in my AK-47! You will be amazed. Get it!!

Awesome improvement
Review by Kilo

Installed one of these in my WASR-10 and another in my M92 PAP pistol. Both were a huge improvement over the light but gritty and inconsistent triggers that came with them. Both installed rather easily. Had to use the roll pin on both but not an issue. Just file it down and go slow so you don't take off too much. I used the aux spring supplied by ALG on both. I'm getting about 3.5 lbs on the WASR and 4.25 lb on the M92. The short pull feels more like a single stage AR trigger.
I would highly recommend these to any AK owner.

This trigger in my custom AK Bullpup!!!
Review by Aiming Rabbit

I have to say this trigger is absolutely amazing even in my custom AK bullpup rifle that I just had made. Now this is not the first time that I use this AK trigger and I also have another one in my Alpha clone AK if any of you watched Larry Vickers video. So now moving on I just have to express how happy I am on how this trigger performs even in my AK Bullpup that uses a transfer bar to initiate the trigger for it to be able to fire. The trigger has a nice small creep and breaks cleanly the only thing I would have to say is that the AK Bullpup design does make this trigger have a little longer travel in order for the trigger to reset but once you get everything dialed in you will put some fast follow-up shots onto the target. I did take my AK Bullpup to the range then had people shoot it and everyone was impressed on the trigger I even got some wide-eyed reactions! If you want to see the videos you can go on to my YouTube channel and it's cold "Aiming Rabbit" so you can see the reviews on my AK Bullpup as well as the trigger!!!

Great AK Trigger
Review by Patrick

I have this trigger on 2 of my 3 AK-47s. It is a big time improvement over the Arsenal/KVar trigger that came stock. In addition to the trigger, I also installed the ALG high energy main spring and the ALG recoil spring. Trigger pull was a little light for me so I also installed the additional small trigger spring that adds about 1 lb. As others have stated, this trigger has a nice crisp break, up-take is definitely reduced, and the reset is vastly improved. Both times I had to install the roll pin to engage the safety. It may just be my fat fingers or lack of a proper workshop with a vise to hold the trigger while installing, but seating that roll pin into the boss on the trigger was a royal PITA. I would gladly pay an extra $10 for the option of having the roll pin installed already. It took me a lot longer than it took Bill on the ALG video. Beyond that, ease of installation was a breeze. I definitely give this 5 stars.

Best AK trigger out there
Review by Motofish

I installed this trigger on a Saiga .308. I had to do a lot of fitting with a file and grinder (I had to file down the top of the trigger hook for bolt clearance). I knew this would be needed going in and it does not impact my ratings regarding the trigger (not the trigger or ALG's fault). This trigger replaced a Tapco double hook, which also required a significant amount of fitting. The ALG trigger is 10x better than the Tapco trigger. I had issues with doubling when the Tapco was installed. This ALG trigger has worked flawlessly once I got it to fit. Takeup is clean and light (1/4" of pull) with a distinct wall before a crisp brake (about 1/8" pull for the brake) and positive, audible and tactile reset(I'm not sure anyone has ever described an AK pattern trigger that way...). It is a night and day difference. I also used the optional extra trigger spring to increase pull weight, its around 4 pounds.

Best AK Trigger
Review by SK

Bought one AKT kit as one of many parts being used in a challenge to make an AMD 65 into a 2MOA weapon. Of all the changes, this made the most difference and the gun got below 2MOA. Liked the AKT so much I bought four more over time. Installs in Saiga12 (12" SBS and 18") and VEPR 7.62x54R required mods to the AKT parts but they were very straightforward and the modded triggers, like the unmodded ones, have performed flawlessly for over 1000rd each thus far. Highly recommended upgrade for your AK-based rifle or shotgun.

Love It
Review by anthony

This trigger is so much better than the G2 that came with my O-PAP. The pull and reset are shorter, and the roll pin was easy to adjust for the safety. I would use the included extra spring to increase the pull weight though. Thanks for a great product ALG!!

I typically don't do reviews, but I felt the ALG AKT warranted one. I have replaced 3 Arsenal single stage triggers so far, and I intend to change out the others with AKT's soon! I really enjoy the way the Lightning bow feels, the break and reset is fantastic. I do recommend installing the additional spring they include on the trigger pin, to add just a little weight to the pull. Other than this, ALG has a real winner with the AKT!

Review by David

The stock Arsenal trigger is already one of the best stock AK triggers out there, but the shorter pull, quicker reset, and smooth operation of the AKT, make this a very worthwhile upgrade. The price is great, too! For my rifle, the clearance between the trigger and safety required the roll pin installation and a little filing, but the instructions were clear and it didn't take long to do. I think the AKT is a keeper. Ordering was easy and the shipping was fast. Thanks, ALG!

best upgrade for your AK!
Review by paul

I have run the tapco for years. I can't believe it took me this long to run across this trigger. All I can say is job well done. Great trigger. I have this installed on my M92 pap no fitting required. I did have to do a bit of modification for my Vepr .308, but that was expected.
I know it is not required but after feeling this trigger with the stock hammer spring I figured might as well get a hammer spring that was tuned for the trigger.

Buying my fifth AKT!
Review by Michael

Put the AKT in 3 of my AK-47s and one Saiga 12. I know it's not made for the Saiga 12 and It took some modification. The AKT is the best AK trigger on the market. It works best with JT Engineering's AK spring. The ALG spring is a little strong for me. Double Taps are seamless. Little to no pre/over-travel. 2.75-3.2lb pull weight (w/JT spring) depending on the AK.

Great Trigger - All our AK's will have them soon!
Review by Rob

I put this trigger on my Polish AK (Built at Rifle Dynamics Builder Class). The trigger job we did in class was nice, but AGL AKT is really quite different. There basically no take up I'm guessing it's about 3.5 lbs. After a few magazines, I was ready to install on the rest of the AK's!

I just bought the spring they offer, looking forward to giving that a try!

Great Trigger
Review by Steven

Absolutely satisfied with the AKT. I installed these in a SLR-104 and a DDI AKM. Vast improvement over the stock trigger group. Like previous reviewer stated, reset is awesome, but the smooth - crisp, pull is what I was looking for. ALG delivered big time.

ALG never lets you down.
Review by Bax

Great upgrade to the iconic AK variant. I love this trigger. Soooooo smooth. Easy to swap out with a little patience. If you have never changed the internals of your AK, I recommend Youtube. If you plan to upgrade the trigger, I recommend ALG's spring also. Great stuff. Thank you ALG!

Exellent trigger, just not what was expected.
Review by Brock

Like the other review, I also installed this trigger in my Bulgy 101s. It says use a gunsmith, but you never really learn how to fix a car without tearing down the engine. It did take minor fitting, but not much. A few swipes with a file, check with calipers, install and test fit, repeat as necessary. The bow shape of the trigger is a little odd for me to get used to, however a finger fits to it nicely. I suppose I was expecting this trigger to give my AK more of an AR style trigger break. At this, the AKT failed, but that is not a fair expectation so I don't hold a grudge to that. What this trigger DID do, was shorten the length of pull, shorten the reset (substantially), and just overall give me a better quality trigger for a quality Ak.

AKT Trigger
Review by Michael

I installed this in my arsenal SLR-101s and it was easy to install ,the trigger pull is phenomenal. Safety had to be fitted, but on a belt sander it took seconds to get the roll pin at the height I needed it and safety works great now. Trigger pull is right at 3.5 lbs and smooth. Love this trigger takes the AK 47 to a whole new level
